Is this right?
Here is what I learned from this thread:

1) I shall not attempt to bribe front desk.
2) I shall not tip hotel staff, taxis or waiters, least I ruin China for others.
3) I shall ignore staff who hold out their hands.
4) I shall not buy drinks for the hotel managers.

Oh, yea, one more - damn some of you have strong opinions!

Since I can't buy the hotel managers a drink, anyone who will be in Beijing the first week of August and would like a free drink can send me a PM.
