From the Marriott website:
Canceling Your Reservation
* You may cancel your reservation for no charge until December 20, 2006 (60 day[s] before arrival).
* Please note that we will assess a fee if you must cancel after this deadline.
If you have made a prepayment, we will retain all or part of your prepayment. If not, we will charge your credit card.
This fee equals 3 night(s) of your room charge plus tax.
Wow, interesting. I have never seen a cancellation deadline such as this (most I've seen is 7 days.) However, if you are on an award and they are charging you 3 nights of room charge, nothing from nothing equals nothing, right?
I would definitely call the hotel and find out EXACTLY what the fee will be if you cancel less than 60 days before. It may be a set fee per night, or it may be nothing. I cannot see them taking 3 nights' points (78,000) from your account.
In checking, this seems to be their standard cancellation policy for award stays, even in non-peak times.
By the way, it's a beautiful property. Amazing beach, beautiful pools, great restaurant on site. I hope you get to enjoy it.
