If it's any help, the last couple of times I've not been able to SSCI, I've just asked the BA person who stands near the machines for assistance. She's just printed the BP off from her machine, and I was able to then go to the FBD.
Both times, the SSCI said I was too late to SSCI, even though I was 3 hours before my flight. Turns out the flight had not yet opened for Check-In, but it gives the same message anyway.
