OK I have been following this construction story for a while for this location.

Last week received email for revenue stay stating that we could cancel, etc like the others have received. I canceled this one, as rate was higher than priceline and not due to construction, which was fine.

Today the day before I am leaving I get this for the priceline portion of my stay I received the following. Reading quickly some reviews on tripadvisor.com I see no laundry services available, which could be a hassle by that time. I guess the old pool is still there. I will only be there two days.

Anyway kinda surprised to hear from priceline, as noted below:

Our records indicate that your reservation for request number

Waikoloa Beach Marriott Resort on Hawaii's Big Island. These
multi-million dollar renovations will take place in phases and are
designed to enhance the beauty, comfort and convenience of the resort,
while creating a whole new level of elegance in accordance with
Marriott's high standards of quality. Throughout the renovation period,
the hotel staff is committed to providing their guests with the services
and amenities they expect, with the least amount of interruption and
inconvenience possible.

If you feel these renovations may interrupt your stay, we can offer to
cancel your reservation and issue a refund as long as you contact us
prior to your check-in.

If you have any concern regarding the above mentioned renovations,
please call Priceline Customer Service at 1-800-xxx-xxxx

We do appreciate that you can choose from a number of services while
planning your travel, and we hope that you choose to come back to
priceline for your future travel needs.”

Then a second email for me to contact a customer care coordinator at priceline. I will give them a call and see what happens. Any comments/suggestions please fire away. Thanks.
