We after much consternation, we stayed in Apollo Bay (Beach Front Motel and Cottages). We adored the place (had a self catering cottage facing the ocean) and Apollo Bay -- much more so than we would have thought. We wanted to stay in Lorne, but in hindsight are so glad that we didn't stay there. If we could do it again, we'd have stayed there 3 nights.
