The problem with this, in my view, is one of onwership. Changing the data (flights, etc.) is one thing, but changing the logic of the code invades, IMO, an area that rightly belongs only to the author. I would therefore respectfully suggest the code is not changed, unless, of course, the author puts it into the public domain; then we are free to hack it to death.
