Greetings, Tenniscrazie. Welcome on board. I'm afraid that the flight attendant was correct in asking your age since they could lose their alcohol license if it's discovered they are serving people under age. Airlines are governed by the country of origin. It doesn' matter which country they are traveling to. If you were flying around Asia, they may not ask you age but I know that flight attendants/airlines are obligated to respect the laws of the country of the country where the airline plans to travel to/from. This would be the same if you were flying United Airlines or Nortwest to/from the US. Of course, you may find flight attendants who may be a little lenient in enforcing the law. However, they are taking a chance of hurting the airline. Hope this helps.
