Good advice, and, further, since the service is in the future, contact your CC issuer to find out their rules regarding disputing a future product/service. You may find relaxed rules for such transactions (beyond the normal 60 days past statement). If so, wait until after your trip to dispute the charge differential, for obvious reasons.
Since I haven't had this happen to me, I'd like to know why a relatively common domestic itinerary would require a paper ticket?
Also, what does the price say for your and your mother's reservations in the confirmation e-mail you received? That might be of interest to the CC issuer.
