Thank you UA.bomb. According to India, this is now fixed, though they say I have to go to the airport with my paper tickets to fix this. Until then, UA gets to enjoy my $120. It's worse for my mother. She's not going to drive 1.5 hours to get a refund at the airport so she'll have to wait until she flies somewhere.
I just wonder if I would have been able to correct this had "My Held Reservations" not had my correct fare. I'm guess that I would have had to tell them that they had the $87+ published fare and they'd have to go search and confirm that.
It's weird. I don't get angry too often nowadays, but this really had me going.
I just hope that I don't have more problems when I go to the airport. India makes it sound like I just go in and wait for a reservation agent. Once the agent looks up my record, supposedly all this will be noted and my credit card will get credited.
