ANZ admits there has been a lot of passenger resistance to these US procedures at LAX. Hence its decision to offer passengers the option of a different routing to Auckland, in this case via Hong Kong, later this year.
And helps explain why they are already looking to double the frequency via HKG to 2x daily 744, and downsize the via LAX route to a 777.
And more than once having spent 90 minutes stuck in an LAX immigration queue being pushed around by grumpy security people I can well see why.
