Wow, that is BAD - you got someone who was clueless, but systemwide upgrades have been around for a long time in one form or another, e.g. VIPOWs, etc. It's time to call again and speak with someone who has a clue.

So... how does one manage to use them????

tropicalmalady, are you related to schistosomiasis? The handles here are getting interesting... Maybe I should have signed up as Plasmodium falciparum, but it's a bit late for that now.

But what I really want to do is to point out what was said by landspeed in Post #5 above:

Q2: How can I check my systemwide upgrade balance and activity?
A: You can contact your elite Service Desk or AAdvantage Customer Service (1-800-421-0600) for balance and usage details. We will also send you email updates on a quarterly basis, provided you are an AAdvantage eSummary subscriber.

If you haven't subscribed to the AAdvantage eSummary e-mail, it sounds like you will not get the e-mailed systemwide upgrade / eVIP reports.
