The trouble with this option is that TPE-PVG-TPE is expensive and will take the better part of a day. You'll need to connect through HKG, MFN, ICN or NRT.

If you are after EQM, than I would go for SIN or BKK. All UA flights arrive very late and you had to overnight there. BKK would be cheaper but SIN would give you more EQM.
