My wife and baby (who will be 1yr when she leaves and 2 on the way back) are going from DFW-BOM-DFW via WT+....I have a couple of questions:

1) The airport change -- does she have to retrieve her bags and re-check or is that taken care of by BA?

That depends on how long the stopover is, you might want to do this in order get changed etc.

2) What type of ticket should I buy on the way out and way in for the kid? My kid does not weight much, but a bit on the tall side.

BA applies the rule that you pay for the ticket based on the age on outbound, so this would be a 10% with baby on mum's lap. However you might want to pay for the luxury of having her own seat (75% of fare IIIRC).

3) What suggestions/precautions should she take?

Bag with loads of changes of clothes. Printed copy of intenerary with all relevcant PNRs etc.

4) How is the airport transfer process?

LHR should be OK (I think you both come into and go out of T4).

5) Since, I live in ELP, could I ask BA to codeshare an AA flight so that the bags can be checked in from ELP to BOM? Is that even possible?

Not sure, you'd have to call AA. Also you might want access to your stuff at LHR if it is a long stopover.

I already know that BA has excellent service when it comes travelling with kids...that is why I chose this airline...I also wanted to ask FT memebers, since most of us know way much more than the CSR....

Appreciate all the help !!!!
Hope this helps.
