Couple that with the fact that all the other airlines suddenly had full flights, and the disruption caused to me was significantly greater than missing out on a salad.
You beat me to it! My flight LHR-SIN was cancelled, not the meal. If it was just the lack of a salad I would of only asked for 49k.
Edited to add: BA really shone for me on this. I was working SIN/HKG for just the blo0dy weekend and if I didn't do the outward leg I was stuffed, lost loads of money and p1ssed a lot of people off. BA got me on the next SQ and I was a happy chappy.
