there was a thread in Travelbuzz about some American lawyers launching a class action suit against BA, following the announcement of the investigation into price fixing... IIRC, it specifically was looking for people who had flown from one US airport (JFK?) to the UK, and paid the fuel surcharge So at just a guess, I'd presume it had to do with that.
