Asked to be a "Pied Piper" on a tour... what compensation is appropriate?
A pied piper is someone who has a "name recognition" in an industry or field and a travel agency feels that having that person along on a tour would encourage others to sign up. We have been asked to do this and I was wondering what is fair compensation for spending 10 days with people that want to travel with you that perhaps you don't even know. At the very least I would expect free accomodations and board...but....for example... is an honorarium or business class tickets too much to ask?
We aren't that famous but we do have a name recognition in our field. We have never been on an organized tour before.
I'd appreciate any feedback on anyone who has some experience with this....
