Why not try SE Asia .... ?

In reading your recent post, iahphx, about high costs in Europe I remembered that I too felt the same way about 25 years ago. In those days the dollar was sinking against just about every European currency; only 2 or 3 countries represented real value back then.

I realized at that time that the world was a whole lot larger than Europe. I became aware that there were many other areas of the world that were just as suitable for summer vacation, and that they were mostly more reasonable priced.

One suggestion that I can offer for your consideration: Why not try SE Asia? Most of the countries in that part of the world e.g Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia etc. are very colorful and quite cultured. Many of those nations have histories just as interesting as any in Europe, and almost all of them are in the dollar economic zone. Costs are simply more reasonable, and with more and more nonstops from the U.S. across the Pacific, visiting SE Asia and even China is now fairly easy.

Bon voyage, whichever direction you go next year!
