The first part of that is clearly true, the second is down to BAA staff. IMHO they will be very good at seeing if something goes in a box (or not) but trying to sort out a hugely busy line of pax whilst counting exactly one bag of each size per passenger seems a bit unlikely to me. Just think of the scene at the X-Ray machine!

I may be proved wrong but seeing as I normally travel with two bags that fit the new BA guidelines perfectly (by pure chance seeing as they were bought a while ago and the roll-aboard fits snuggly in the new bin) I don't really care!

christep if those are your bag dimensions I see your potential problem.
