LAN
2 of 5 F seats filled; very quiet cabin

Poor food, both quantity and quality
Indifferent FAs
Qantas
Large biz cabin on 747, 90% full
Decent seat, but certainly not comparable to a flat seat
Good food, both quality and quantity
Attentive FAs
See, I wouldn't go out of my way to get on LA F just because my ticket entitles to me (particularly since the AKL-SYD schedule just WON'T do it for me...) When I was unable to book the A seats on the LA flight, I re-jiggered my itinerary to fly SYD-CHC//AKL-MEL, instead of SYD-AKL//CHC-MEL, as the CHC-MEL would have been on a narrowbody 737, wheereas my revised itinerary had me on the int'l-763s in both directions across the tasman. Overall, a better itinerary (assuming you want to see more of Aust & NZ than just AKL and SYD.
And who needs a nap in a flat bed on a 3-hour flight in the middle of the day, anyway?!?
