As to iPods, noise-cancelling headphones, laptops and the like -- I have to wonder if that prohibition has as much, or more, to do with not having any distractions during takeoff and landing in the event of an emergency.
Seattlenerd I have heard this also, but was never able to find the study/information. Are you aware of issues based on frequency (900/1800/1900) or phone type, or even provider?
