Hmm. Well this is interesting. If this is a CAA/DfT imposed thing and not at the airline's discretion please could someone explain to me why I have just received this in writing from Cathay Pacific:
"...despite the British Airways cabin baggage policy
change, Cathay Pacific will maintain its current cabin baggage allowance
of 22in x 14in x 9in and the additional cabin baggage allowances for
First and Business Class passengers and members."
Just to be clear, the additional cabin baggage allowance for Business and First passengers on CX is here:
http://www.cathaypacific.com/cpa/en_...ageinformation
In summary, as an F on CX I can carry the following as cabin baggage:
One bag of 22x14x9
PLUS
One garment or soft bag not exceeding 8" thick.
[Together these may total up to 15kg (although in practice I have never had them weighed).]
PLUS
One laptop bag not exceeding 4kg
PLUS
One briefcase not exceeding 4kg
PLUS
One small handbag
PLUS
One small camera
PLUS
The usual bits & pieces (coat, umbrella).
Guess which airline's going to (continue to) get my business up front on LHR-HKG?
