I don't think you have to worry about it in the short term. I have a mink that has been sitting in a hall closet turned inside out for years and it's perfectly fine. I wear it about once a year, if that often, and I haven't noticed any difference in the pelts.

I doubt there could/would be very much damage to the small amount of fur applied to a coach bag. If you're concerned, wrap it in tissue paper & put it in a fabric bag or pillowcase for the summer.
