I agree with what seems to be a majority here so far - I like being able to have folks into the sitting area / dining room without having them pass through my bedroom, and the majority of the noise I have experienced at ES has been kids running up and down the corridors or a noisy group in the court. As it is now, I just close the second door and have blessed quiet...

Now the ES - Sacramento has its east side facing the very busy Interstate 5 freeway, so I recommend avoiding that side of the hotel, like I avoid the US 101 freeway facing side of the Doubletree San Jose (airport) or the "city" side of the Hilton Financial District in San Francisco (D-SJ ask for an even-numbered room, H-FD get the Bay View.) A fair amount of this is gleanable here on FlyerTalk, and some of it is obvious, such as when you see the ES - Sacramento; be prepared. That's effective sound control.
