Dov, my suggestion is to call Vicki Escarra's office in ATL and have one of her assistants resolve your issues.

That might work but I am not going to do it.

I currently have 71,000 MQM's. I will not be taking any more Delta flights this year (at least none are planned right now) and the MQM's they owe me would mean that I would have started next year with 15,000. That 15,000 would probably make the difference between my getting SM for 1995 or not.

BUT, I feel that Delta has made its elite program so worthless that I decided in January to never, ever, spend even one extra cent in order to earn medallion status.

I will fly Delta, or Skyteam partners, when they offer the best fares and/or most convenient routes. I will buy LUT fares when they are available and I might even pay for an M fare when I want an international upgrade -- but I will not pay the $3 or $4 dollars it would cost me to phone from Israel to Atlanta just to get a medallion.

Delta, you have devalued your frequent flyer program to the point where a GM isn't willing to spend the price of a telephone call to hold onto his status. Obviously, I would never book a Delta flight with status being my objective.

Is that really "simply good business"?
