in terms of flying and then maneurvering to NYC, the best choices (in order) are as follows:
1. west side: newark liberty
2. east side: john f. kennedy international
i would only fly into laguardia if i was arriving at an off hour. if it is an offhour, laguardia is the best because the cab ride into the city is lightening quick. otherwise, public trains via JFK and EWR are your best bet.
