Does anyone know what Iberia are likely to do in this situation will they proactively rebook or just deal with the chaos on the day?
You have NO problem .

IB Press Release
Go here : http://grupo.iberia.es/portal/site/g...f93ead21061ca/
them click "english" on the top , and read the "Latest News" of 06.07.06 ,"Iberia regrets inconveniences to passengers from cancellation of more than 200 flights per day..."

"The flights by Iberia Regional Air Nostrum (with flight numbers from IB8000 to IB8999) and those operated under code shares (IB7000 to IB7999) will not be affected by this strike."

IB/BA codeshares are NOT affected by the Strike in any case .
