Got a reply from OneWorld and the date IS a known problem in which they are working on.

I am not too favourable with the purchasing of additional segments on the LONE4 since it is uneconomical (Is it? ). In SAM, I should be able to get shot hop LAN Pass flights to tie me over for ~USD$100. In Asia, I dont really have anywhere else to go on this trip. In Europe, maybe a weekend in Rhone/Bordeaux/Burgundy would be nice.

sdorling: Yes, this trip only, although the 3 months could easily blow out. Thank you very much for the SAM suggestions and since I am on the bench at work, it beats just surfing the web. The Europe angle might work...depending on the time constraints.
