I scanned this thread and didn't see cell phones mentioned. (sorry if I missed it) It really falls into the same category. You are surrounded by others. They don't want to hear the details of your conversation, regardless of how innocent or bland. God forbid you should be discussing intimate or distasteful subjects. You have intruded on their privacy and with nothing else to distract them, they cannot get the sound out of their heads.

I have one of those voices that carries and I'm not always aware how loudly I am speaking. Mrs BamaVol must occasionally tell me to turn down the volume. I am grateful for the warning, as it is delivered with love. If it came from a fellow pax, it might be delivered with a smack.
