Summer is typically very slow in NOLA, and bargains abound even in the best of times. Quite obviously this has been excacerbated in light of the recent disaster.
I had a trip through the area a couple of months ago, and was looking to include a stop in New Orleans. I had a measure of flexibility with my dates, but all of the rates I looked at were surprisingly high....regardless of what time frame I looked at. I wound up adjusting my schedule, and spending the night in Mobile instead.
I wouldn't go so far as to say they've recovered. But it does appear the Marriott properties in NOLA are finding opportunities at least here and there to charge premium prices.
