Not only Taihiti is EXPENSIVE, but it also looks beautiful and enticing in pictures only. The real thing is a lot LESS attractive than what is in magazine spreads.
Dont let those bungalow pix fool you. If you MUST do Taihiti, then a cruise is a far better choice than go to a resort.

We were so disappointed with our Taihiti trip in 2000, that we are still bitter when we see those brochure pix.

People who have been in both Taihiti and Fiji all said Fiji is a lot more beautiful and a lot cheaper.

How can you say Tahiti is not pretty. The capital, papeete is definetely not pretty at all, but bora bora is amazing and worth every penny. I have been to different place in French Polinesia and also to Fiji. Fiji is not pretty at all. Dry landscape, the water is not that great and sand either. Sea is deep mostly and Nadi, ugly. The best beach (Nacula).

I have been to Palau. It is really pretty and me and my husband had a great time snorkeling, with the jelly fish (jelly fish lake), saw amazing giant clams etc. but I do not know if I would choose it for honeymoon. The only good hotel is the Palau Pacific resort. Maldives is one of our next destinations and they say is really nice and less expensive. I would go with maldives or bora bora.
