Is it my poor memory, or does the moving map now stop on touchdown? IIRC it used to continue working until arrival at the gate.

My impression is that the 777's system is generally a huge improvement over the 747's - at least down the back. Part of it depends, of course, on the volume being up sufficiently high - but when it is, the 777 announcements seem much more audible than the 747's.
