With respect, he was making the assumption that all the cabin crew were insincere - personally I think that's rude and his profession doesn't make him exempt from criticism.

Given he was so caught up in the whole thing, i'm sure there would have been a couple of old ladies who would have taken their seats whilst they joined the masses down the back (unless of course he was on Eos - perhaps he could have swapped the tickets with someone on Maxjet...)
