The main question I have is how is the -SYD/surface/JNB- treated? Is this counted as a stop in SYD or a stop in JNB or both?
I was just thinking about this same question, this morning, and didn't think I've seen it addressed here in the past.

Reason being, I have a OW130C on hold, and want to add a "trip" to it to maximize the travel, such that I would do: (X)=stopover

CMH-DFW-SLC(X)-ORD-TOL(X)//CLE-ORD-LHR-HRE(X)-JNB-VFA(X)-JNB-MAD-JFK-CLE

So, is the stopover in TOL or CLE? or both? If CLE is considered the stopover, then it couldn't be my final destination.

If CLE is not a stopover, then I think I should be good to go, as the above is:
1) 19,488 miles (max 20,000)
2) Connect via: DFW (1); ORD (2); LHR (1); MAD (1); JNB (2); JFK (1)
3) 14 segments of max 16 (including over the ground TOL-CLE)
