Hey there,
the following happened to me on the 28th on UA944.

I was traveling within a group of exchange students, we were comming from different places and where round about 150 that were on UA944.
Now the funny thing is, that some actually had E+ seats, even though our booking class - iirc - was V oder W (at least it was a pretty low one). So since I am pretty tall I asked a other foreign exchange student if we could switch since she was 4 feet tall and i am 6-4. So she said no for one or the other reason.

I then just went to guy at the Gate (well, that place where you get your I94 stamped) and asked him friendly. 10 Minutes later I had 17B on that flight (777 XC) - the best seat on the flight according to my opinion and seat guru.

What was funny was that the plane was really backed. I would've guessed that by then all the E+ - esp. 17A and B would've been taken!

How did that happen?
