It's still 90k bmi miles. Trouble is that the cash + miles only works with Star Alliance, not Virgin or Qatar (the other non-star partner).
As an example, for Star Alliance, you could get a return to NY and it would cost 50k miles and £280 in First! In Business it would be 37,500 miles and £210. You can route via FRA for example, if you wanted to avoid United on the LHR-JFK route (the only *A option).
