I got a Braun Activator for Xmas this year, and thus far am happy with it, especially as it is self-cleaning.

As for wet shavers, I wanted 5 or so years ago and the sales dude at the Remington shop told my wife they don't work very well, so I ended up not getting one.

As for the screens, I'm on my second Braun and haven't had a screen break yet. My Remington's screens self-destructed several times.

I replace the blade & screen approximately once a year, although I probably ought to start doing it more often, as my facial hair seems to grow at the speed of light.
