Advice on Award Itinerary

I have a AA Oneworld Award awaiting confirmation that the routing is within the rules and just want to check with the collective wisdom of FT if this looks OK:

SCL-GIG-(LHR-MAD-JNB)-CPT-(JNB)-SYD/surface/JNB-(BCN-LHR)-GRU-(JFK-LAX)-MEL-(LAX)-SCL where inside the ( ) are transits.

The main question I have is how is the -SYD/surface/JNB- treated? Is this counted as a stop in SYD or a stop in JNB or both?

Secondly,on the JNB-(BCN-LHR)-GRU segments, JNB-BCN arrives at 9.30am and the natural connection to GRU via LHR leaves BCN at 7.50pm Will this be counted as a stopover because of the 6 hour rule and to avoid this occuring will I have to take an am flight from BCN to LHR and cool my heels in London rather than Barcelona for the day?

Thirdly, on a more peripheral note, what is happening with LAN and its First class between North and South America? I thought they were withdrawing 1st on the SCL-LAX route but AA were able to confirm a Z class seat on May 3rd LAX-SCL.
