Actually, it is odd that Argentina has an exit tax based on the currency of a different country, and doesn't have an even figure in it's own currency.
It's like the USA having an exit tax based on Euros, or Yen, and not US dollars.
The amount is only posted in US dollars in the tax booths at the airport -- the peso amount has to be computed based on the current exchange rate.
