What "terrific restaurant" did the staff recommend you?
Thanks
I will post on Tripadvisor about this and other hotels we stayed in our recent trip, although it may take a while before I get around to creating a TA account. I spend too much time on this board!
The superb Innsbruck restaurant was (surprising, to us) in the hotel Europa; it's name is Europastüberl. The maitre'd, Herr Kohler (sp?), takes a genuine interest in his tables and customers. When he overheard us tell the waitress that we wanted to try traditional Austrian cuisine, he took over the table personally and made sure everything was perfect. He even insisted we try a special blueberry crepe (we'd call them huckleberries, they were very small and exceptionally naturally sweet) that wasn't on the menu. Spectacular, as was the boiled beef and the local pike that my wife enjoyed. An excellent meal, and a wonderful host. Highly recommended.
