I would have been less angry about the overbooking and more angry that the staff didn't have some proactive measures in place the minute the saw you walk in the door with your luggage at 10:40PM. They should have been on the phone with Islington hours earlier, giving them a heads-up that they might later have a situation with overbooking. I'm always amazed when a major-chain property has a massive process breakdown just because the hotel is oversold. Surely they have a "playbook" for this. You should have been in a cab, on your way to Islington, by 10:45PM.
