I did the consultation last fall. The Ameriprise advisor knew that I had registered via a Delta offer and he pulled out the appropriate paperwork for me to get my SkyMiles without me asking for about it. The miles posted in a couple of weeks.

The advisor wasn't pushy at all, seemed very knowledgable, and after considering it for a couple of months, I had him set up a financial plan for me and I moved my account to Ameriprise. I guess it all comes down to how professional the advisor is that you get.
