With KLM my experience is that my bag didn't make the AMS connection (XXX-AMS-LHR) and came along on one of the next flights. Now I guess that AMS-LHR is slightly more frequent than AMS-TRD....
Sounds likely. If it was lost at AMS I should have received it by now, as there are two flights daily AMS-TRD.
Delta cancelled my flight AUS-JFK, and sent me on a chase through DTW, so most likely it got lost thereabouts.
