It had to happen one day. My suitcase did not turn up on the carousel on this last Tuesday. That was the end of 20 years of continual luck.

No surprise, really, after I'd been through an itinerary involving three transfers (AUS-DTW-JFK-AMS-TRD). So, now that my luck has ended I'm very interested to know how long one usually would have to wait for lost luggage.

I got a paper slip telling me that the luggage should be considered lost after 45 days.
