4Pts Lexington - Pie and Housekeeper Issues (lurker?)
Ok - I stayed at the Four Points in Lexington, KY this week. Overall its a nice place, seems very motel like, but this is my first stay at a FP so maybe this is how they are.
Two issues:
#1 - I was given a small business card sized flyer - it says: "We knew you were coming so we baked you a pie. Come and get it." There is even a web site about the pie. Nowhere on the web site does it say there is a charge. Anyway I called the front desk and was told "The pie is only a slice of pie and we have to charge you for the pie slice. I am not sure why FP has this program sir but it confuses a lot of our guests" -- Can anyone explain this program? I think it is VERY misleading to say pie come and get it and then say "give me money for said pie." In addition, the web site should say there is a charge.
#2 - I asked for a late checkout and was allowed to stay until 4pm. I put the privacy door hanger when I left in the morning. I came back at noon to find the housekeepers cart in front of the door, the vacuum inside and the cleaning supplies in the bathroom. I called the front desk and was told "our housekeepers only speak Spanish, you can't expect them to always honor the sign" -- I almost blew a vein. I told the man that I don't care if you hire non-english speakers but that is not my issue, my laptop and suitcase were in the room. He had no answer but that that manager would call me upon their return from lunch. No one ever called. Upon checkout the manager said "oh sorry" - that was about it.
How often does this happen? I am not sure in my 60+ nights so far this year that this has ever happened. I can't believe the clerk used a language issue. Maybe they should teach the maids that this sign means "no entry".
