Not exactly! Per the United website:

Domestic travel baggage information
For travel on United you may check two bags free of charge within the U.S. 50 states and to/from Canada, San Juan, Puerto Rico and St. Thomas U.S.V.I.
The maximum size of each checked bag is 62 inches/158cm (length + width + height). The maximum weight per checked bag is 50 pounds/23kg each.
United's 1K Premier Executive, Premier Executive and Star Alliance Gold members are allowed a third piece of checked baggage (maximum of 70 pounds/32kg) free of charge.

If taken literally, 1K and 1P passengers get 2 bags @ 50 lb. each and a 3rd bag @ 70 lb. So if I have only 1 or 2 bags, each is limited to 50 lb., but if I have 3, I can add 20 more lb. to the 3rd bag than the first two. That makes no sense to me, but that is what the website says!
