Since I usually pack light or just check all my big luggages, I never have this problem.

Next week, I'm flying SJC-LAX (on CRJ), connecting to LAX-NRT-BKK (on C of 747). And I will have to bring a wheel carry-on that is not going to fit inside the CRJ. Therefore, I will have to gate-check my carry on. Once I gate check my carry on from SJC, when arriving in LAX, do they usually bring all carry-on up to the terminal bridge? Or they will have to check my luggages through to BKK (hope not)?
