Stick with the cafe upstairs. Downstairs they serve only one menu each night, and it may not be to your liking. Upstairs you have menu choices, lower prices, same wonderful service, more casual atmosphere, and very very fresh & delicious food. If you want to spend a little extra time in Berkeley you might arrive sometime before your reservation, snack on a cheese or pizza slice from Cheeseboard Collective across the street from CP, and stroll and window-shop.
