"Celebrity Suite is $3K/night, Hardwood is $25K/night, the Crib is $4K/night --- I think we would need another thread to discuss these types (over $2K/night) of accomodations."
Uh, I called several months ago, and there were only 1 or 2 rooms that had lowest rates of $5K. All the rest were $10K.. (other than Hardwood) And that's the weekday rate. Weekend rates were $10K and $15K respectively...
Comparing Wynn and FS to Skylofts..
Wynn is horribly overpriced. 2BR Skyloft with 3K sq ft, 3 double beds, and 3 L couches (also pool table on request, maybe lose 1 couch for it) for $1200. Compare that to almost $1K for top ROOM at Wynn. (1BR suite with 2 normal couches) (then there are the 1-3BR villas, at even HIGHER rates)
Also note, no upgrades in higher rooms at Wynn, or anywhere else for that matter. At Skylofts, you can use FHR or LC and go from 1>2 or 2>3.. Insane value there. (They have a number of 2BRs too, so the 1>2 upgrade is one you can pretty much count on, except during peak season/big events)
Now with FS, it's more expensive, but its traditional decor, and not sure how service compares with Skylofts. Obviously while rooms are comparable size/price to Skylofts at THEhotel next door, the service difference would be huge. (although maybe added cost of butler service at THEhotel is still cheaper overall than FS... then it goes back to traditional vs modern decor. and THEhotel DOES seem a little dark for me, too :P)
Also FS and then Bellagio have the overall atmosphere advantage. While Skyloft floor(s) are great I'm sure, the rest of the MGM can't compare to FS and Bellagio.
Oh and finally, all the reviews I've personally READ of the Wynn had SOME negative comments :P If there are glowing reviews, I haven't seen them, other than the one I linked :P
Also, I agree on not going to gamble :P If I were going to, I'd be looking forward to comps
"Whereas since we've been repeat guests at the LV FS, we now reserve the least expensive 'executive suite' and have been upgraded to much more luxurious accomodations--before arrival."
And you don't need more BR, just a larger nicer room. Sounds like some nice well deserved treatment
