Same situation here for me a couple of weeks ago on PHX-SFO. I had checked in online but forgotten the boarding pass at home. Figured I would re-print at the airport using the check-in machine. Got there at about 30 mins prior to departure and it said I needed to speak with someone. I had figured it was the close time to departure, but apparently, that functionality is no longer available, period?
