I suggest you consider buying part of the ticket. Like if you can get seats to LHR, then buy LHR-IST, or if you can get seats from ORD/NYC/MIA/DFW to IST, consider buying a ticket there. I would do some research myself trying to find AA seats from any of these gateways in J/F to London, and then call AA for the rest of the itinerary.
